Karam Malhotra is tech entrepreneur and co-founder of FastFilmz and Greatest Common Factor. Karam was recently appointed as CEO of SHAREit Technologies (India Operations) after SHAREit acquires the movie app FastFilmz.

Content sharing platform SHAREit recently acquired OTT platform FastFilmz. This move app allows users to watch movies on the go with reduced data usage of your mobile data plan.
Dominic Charles and Karam Malhotra were working for McKinsey in London where they curated the idea for FastFilmz. Both of them left McKinsey and co-founded the movie app in 2015.
It made us both confused and upset that India was so big on smartphones but not watching films on them,” says Karam in an interview with TheHindu, “We realised that it was a technological problem.
Early Life & Education
Karam studied bachelors in Physics (major) and Economics (minor) from St. Stephen’s College in New Delhi. Karam has his career as a senior analyst in McKinsey in 2008 and later in 2011, he moved to Chicago to attend Kellogg School of Management in Northwestern University.
He worked for Genie Technology for less than a year and again moved to McKinsey & Company in 2012 as an Associate. He worked there for approx. 3 years where he met his co-founder Dominic Charles.
The Way Forward
Karam Malhotra is all set to lead SHAREit India Operations and increase user base and accessibility of the app across India.
He recently appeared on Yourstory TechSparks 2018 to encourage young Indian Entrepreneur by decoding their success story.
Karam said, “SHAREit is a platform where users share content and digital products like apps by leveraging social connections. In essence, it’s really a platform where people share, discover, learn and enjoy.”
